HJL Architects & Chartered Accountants, Pearse Street, Dublin 2, Basement Works.

51-54 Pearse Street accommodates the new design studios of Henry J Lyons Architects and the HQ for Chartered Accountants Ireland, a six-storey building over an 11m basement in the heart of Dublin city.

Project Details

The HJL element integrates a terrace of three mid-nineteenth century protected structures with a contemporary 2,600 m2 extension, formed about a new atrium. The Chartered Accountants element is a new build of some 8,000m2 over 11m basement with a state of the art lecture theatre in the basement area.

The Civils element of Works included the secant piling of the footprint, excavation dewatering and propping, the concrete works were designed around the temporary props and much of the concrete work is exposed which demanded the highest standards in form-work and meticulous preparation pre-pour.

The basement houses two car lifts, extensive document storage and a 2000 seate auditorium/lecture theatre. This project is a good example of Elliott Groups’ ability to design and build complex buildings with extensive enabling and civil works in city centre location
